  1. Well from what I heard, AMY 2A consists of cellular and molecular level, bones, tissues, muscles, eye, and ear. Amy 2B consists of all the systems; Nervous, Cardiovascular, ect. I am not sure whether memorization is also involved in AMY 2B, as it might also consists identifying all the parts of an organ or organ system? Yes I heard all science classes are no walk in the park, but I think with strong dedication and motivation it is possible to successfully complete them as you did! :-) I will end up taking Amy 2B, with Micro and Psy 9 in the spring, as those two are much more similar in terms of identifiying the systems a pathogen is affecting. Plus I will be much more familiar with the testing styles of A&P :-). Best of luck to you in Nursing school!
  2. Hello thanks for the advice :) I am already starting to read some of A&P 1 textbook, to familirize myself. I think I willl be taking 2B and Micro along with Psy 9, as I will already know how my instructor for anatomy will be. At EMT 89: I could do that, but I would have to wait an extra semester to apply for the program, because they want us to finish all of our pre reqs before applying. I would rather have them done in the same semester so that by Fall 2013, I can apply for Spring 2014 entrance :-)
  3. Hello there, I would suggest you to take a kinesiology course such as Nutrition or Health Education, or an additional science course such as Human Biology, or Intro to Chemsitry. These courses will definitally help you a lot in your nursing prereqs. In my college, we are also required to take a speech class; in order for us to have stronger communication skills in the workplace. Classes such as these will provide you with excellent people skills. Also does your college offer Medical Terminology? or Bioethics? Make sure you choose something that interests you and that doesn't overload your pre-req course work though lol :) good luck!!
  4. Hello! My Community College offers Anatomy and Physiology in a sequence of two semesters (2A- deals with cells, histology, bones, muscular, eye, ear) (2B-deals with cardiovascular, digestive, respritory, nervous, ect) I have already taken the Pre-reqs for Microbiology which were a sememster of Chemistry and a biology class. I am currently debating whether to take A&P 2A with Micro or A&P 2B with Micro? Both classes require 2.5 hrs of lecture and 4 hrs of lab twice a week. Should I take plan A or plan B? Advice appericated thanks! (: --PLAN A-- Fall: Amy 2A w/LAB Micro 1 w/LAB Nutrition(online fairly easy) CIS 1A(online fairly easy) Winter: Political Science(online) Spring: Amy 2B w/LAB Psy 9 Health Science(satifies A.S requirments fairly easy) ORR--PLAN B-- Fall: Amy 2A w/LAB Health Science CIS 1A(online) Political Science(online) Winter: Nutrition(online) Spring: Amy 2B w/LAB Microbiology w/LAB Psy 9
  5. Hello! :) I am currently finishing up my pre-reqs for the RN program, but I am still quite debating on taking either AMY 2A with Micro or Amy 2B with Micro in the same semester? I have already taken Chem 2A and Bio 34(human genetics). I have heard that AMY 2A requires much more memorization than 2B, but I also have heard that 2B is much more intense. I really want to finish my pre-reqs by this upcoming spring, as I only have these 3 classes, plus psych 9 and political science to finish. So far I have a 4.0 gpa on my General Ed, qualify for low-income/first generation college grad, and am a fluent spanish speaker. I am really hoping to pursuit my dream of becoming a nurse. Any advice would be greatly appericated! Thank you!
