I hate the stigma attached to HSV I contracted HSV2 about 8 years ago from an ex. I had the intial major outbreak and that has been it, thankfully. I have been in nursing for 9 years but just landed my dream job as an L&D nurse. Hubby and I plan to start having littles next year so my anxieties are already full blown thinking about my coworkers learning I have "the herp". Of course I am worried about my baby's health as well but I will be on Valtrex 3rd trimester and already had my intial outbreak which "helps". And this is all God willing I get pregnant.. :) Is anyone else in my shoes and have any advice??! It will be very costly to deliver somewhere else. I will be discussing this further with my new OB doc who delivers where I work but I'm probably **** outta luck unless I go elsewhere because it will obviously be in my chart. Thanks you in advance for any support, advice, etc.

I've been an LPN for 3 years in oral surgery and am a recent RN grad, I want to work nights for some reason. Am I crazy?! I like geriatrics. I hear nights is better pay, less drama (management, etc), more jobs offered on nights. There are so many different opinions, some hate it and some love. It's one of those things where I just have to do it to see I guess. Any input would be great, thanks!

Thanks for the advice colleen and ivy :) I'm gonna stay for now, I love the people and do get to use my nsg skills. I feel rich making $25/hr lol cuz I've def never made that before! One day at a time.

Would I be nuts to leave a day shift, no holidays/weekends for $25/hr at an oral and maxillofacial surgeons office job?? I'm a recent RN grad, I've been there 3 yrs already as an LPN for $17.50/hr and he offered me to stay becuz he wants an RN on board. The cons are that its 1-1.5 hour drive one way for me now and I feel I'm not getting to expand my "nursing horizons" there. I guess I'm wondering, is the grass greener on the other side?? If I looked for something else, I'm sure it would b nights since I'm a new RN..

My FCCA only took 8 days to grade and I got my CPNE date yesterday, which only took 2 weeks! Loving Excelsior right now and can't wait for June 1-3! Testing in Chambersburg, PA, anyone else??

Just started viewing Robs DVDs..for the subQ lab sim, he shows the injection (into the potato) at 45 degree angle for insulin. I was always taught insulin and heparin are 90 degrees. I'm confused already! Help! I know I MUST study the EC way for the exam, but I just want to double check w/ someone who definitely knows, thanks!

Sooo I started reading my guide yesterday and will be applying online for cpne Friday!! I have been reading a ton of posts on here also and just want to make sure I am on the right path to ease my mind :) My plan is to study 3-4 months, read the guide at least once, print section IV and focus my time on that(critical elements). Do Sherri's online workshop for 1-2 months and prob robs online DVDs. I can get skills set supplies at work and I'm def buying the EC wound and practicing at home. Will also submit weekly care plans via EC message center. Sounds good right?! Now just gotta start! Any other tips would be great, I'm so glad I found this awesome site
