  1. I was stationed at Travis. It is a great place. There is so much to do and see. The weather is wonderful (most of the time). Congrats!
  2. Congrats!!! I was never stationed there, but I have visited Okinawa many times and I think it is wonderful! I hope you enjoy it too.
  3. Hello everyone, I made it too! Got my first choice (Andrews) and I leave Jan 9. When this all hits me tomorrow I will have my panic attack then (or poop a brick!) . I really never thought I would leave in January (if I got accepted)! 5 weeks to get in shape! Good thing I have been running.
  4. I feel your pain, I am going to call if I don't hear from her by the end of the day. She did say she was out of town for the holiday. I hope she will be back to work on Monday. I have a bad feeling and I have this time to work on Plan B. My brother mentioned applying to work as a civilian nurse at an overseas base. Maybe even working in Afghanistan. So this helps me with the wait and possible rejection. I may apply again, but this takes so long, an other year goes by...or more. SO I am thinking of joining the Rrservers as a Flight Nurse (I haven't looked into this yet) and maybe do some contract work, or move to an ICU, ED, or OR position so I can get some experience and look better for these jobs I want. Until then good luck!
  5. Ok, I would love to know who your NC recruiter is. Mine is from NC too, Raleigh. I thought there was just one. Please tell me yours is not from Raleigh. Mine just text me that she is not in the office and that the info was just loaded today.
  6. Ok, I am oficially obscessing now. But I think 4 people have heard back and 6 of us have not yet. Anyone out of NC? I will put stressing on hold at 1700 (eastern time) then take it back up Monday morning. Happy Thanks giving everyone!
  7. yay! Congrats! What area? I just texted my recrhiter, but I don't think she is going to call me.
  8. Wow that is great! thanks for the info.
  9. WOW Congrats! I wish mine would tell me. Did your recruiter say how many they accepted? Also, is anyone who was accepted for med/surge? Just trying to see what area people are getting into. What was your duty station?
  10. Sorry Atlrn86, I did not mean petty, I meant peppy. That looks so rude, and I am SO sorry for that. You sound happy!
  11. Yah, Atlrn86, you sound pretty petty. Did you receive good news? I hope so. DId they give you any details? Where is your recruiter?
  12. TO vbbynum, So sorry to hear that. Did they tell you why? Can and are you going to apply again? Goodluck what every you do!
  13. I have not heard either. Text my recruiter and she said she would let me know good news or bad news. I wasn't getting my hopes up too high to hear by Thanksgiving. (...yet I find myself checking my phone like a girl waiting for a call from a guy!) But waiting until March! Geezzz! That will be painful. I am holding out for "by Christmas" now. No one told me that, but I need mental deadlines. I keep hearing about the Super Committee and how if they don't get the budget straight (ok, actually make that past tense, I read they failed), that the defence budget will get cut. I think, "Why now! Why when I (we) are waiting for this board". Is anyone up to speed on that? I listen to the news but I have a hard time putting the pieces together. OK, good luck all!
  14. I have not heard anything either. I guess it is still to early. I will feel the excitement more on the 18th. Great news before the holidays is a wonderful gift for us all!
  15. Ok, I heard we have a good chance to hear before Thanksgiving. As mentioned above, Nov 18 would be great. I have the attitude of tell me the bad news early and fast so I can cry and move on, but if you are going to make me wait, then it better be good news! I know my recruiter had a few packages, she did not tell me exactly, but I think at least 6 to 8 packeges were sent. Does any body know how many their recruiter sent? I know, this is really not going to get me anywhere, but it is how I cope. I am suprised that this blog is so few people and so close to the board date. Maybe this is a good sign, that not a lot of applications are going this on this board. How is everyone's PT coming? I started this Couch to 5K program that is pretty easy so far. I have read that we have to do a 5K/3 mile in COT. Anyway, happy waiting everyone! and good luck!
