  1. I really, really, really, really want to study abroad. But my question is, would it really be useful for someone applying to nursing school? I've been searching for nursing/health/medicine study abroad programs and found a small number of them; one even has clinical rotations. And learning Spanish is always useful ... But the real reason I'm asking is that I was a huge slacker during my first two years of college (yay depression) and it looks like I'll be applying with just over the minimum required GPA after working my butt off for the next two years. :/ So if I went abroad to learn about healthcare and do medical volunteer work for a semester, do you think it would boost my chances of getting into nursing school? Or would it just be a check in the 5-out-of-100-point "other" column?
