Where can I take a Critical Thinking course asap?
Miami dade community college offers this class online. It starts January and ends April 29, 2011. You can go on the website www.mdc.edu and click on current students. After that click on search for classes. Choose Term 2011-2 Spring. Under campus click virtual college (online courses). Click all times. And then type in PHI2604 for Course ID. This courseID is for Critical thinking and Ethics. The click search for classes. It will show you a list of classes they are offering online. The cost of the class for in-state tuition is about $400 not including a book if you need it. Out of state tuition is a little higher. Hope this helps!!!

CNA-Can u become a CNA w/o going to a training program?
To busygurrl, Thanks i really appreciate your feedback. I have requested some books to checkout at the local library and i found a website from a college in Wiscosin that has some step-by-step videos of the CNA course at their college. So I've been watching the videos online and taking notes. I've been looking at job openings in my area and some say that u have to have had training from an approved or accredited CNA program as a job requirement. So I dont want to spend the time studying on my own if i cant get a job. What do u think?

CNA-Can u become a CNA w/o going to a training program?
Hello Gang, I wanted to know if it was possible to become a Certified Nursing Assistant with going through a training program? Can u sort of training yourself by just getting the textbook thats used in the class and study hard and take the test.? If so, will you be able to get a job without having any training for a program? Because I went to the website www.prometric.com/NurseAide/FL to look at the application to take the certification test and there is a question on it asking where you got your training and one of the options is No previous training program attended. I really cant afford a training program right now because Im unemployed and the cheapest one I've seen is $400 for 2 weeks but I do have access to the Nursing Assistant book by Mosby the 6th addition. Please help me make the right decision. Im a very fast learner and can crash course any textbook but I want to make sure its worth it or should I just save the $$$ and take the course? Thanks in advance you guys. I know you all will help me.:heartbeat:heartbeat:nurse: P.S. Im taking the pre-requistes for the Associate of Science in Nursing Degree and just wanted to get my feet wet with the CNA career.

Miami-Dade College-Classes Full??
@Nursekitty2013: Reading all your responses and advice your giving is really motivating to say I can do it. I graduated high school with a 3.0 and I just have difficulty staying interested in what I am reading(maybe cause i have the tv on as well,LOL)... But you are a true inspiration to me and I congratulate you for having the courage to go back to school after dropping out. Its hard staying in school as it is let alone graduating from it and continuing to go to college. I know I can do it, im just afraid that midway I might give up. I cant stay focus on one thing cause I try to always find the easy way out.

Miami-Dade College-Classes Full??
A few questions for the very knowledgable posters on the website: 1.Can u mix up the courses required for the program? (Meaning can u take ENC1101 with a science course or do all the science courses have to be taken together and all the general courses taken together) 2. Is the program Hard as far as the coursework?(Im not worried about the time to complete the homework) 3. Is it hard to be accepted to the program? 4. Whats the hours for the Generic Full-time for RN? Im starting the Pre-select program this August but they are not allowing u to take ENc1101 with Phi2604 which is required in order to submit an application for the program. How do they expect you to complete all the courses required before the application deadlines? You cant take one without first completing the other. Another question is do you have to complete all the pre-select classes submitting the application or can u just take the most important ones first then the rest after you are accepted to the program? In conclusion, Im just a confused prospective nursing student who's trying to figure out the best and quickest option for my family and I.
