  1. That's ok you don't need to apologize daisy. I made a typo as well:):)
  2. actually personal support worker is unregulated because its not registered like rpn for example, but i heard from someone that it will becomes regulated with no confirmation when its going to happen yet. personal support workers are a regulated like nurses are. there is no governing body. a psw messes up you lose your job, a nurse does you lose your licence.
  3. how come GB offer more subjects in their PN program? Centennial have 18 subjects and GBC have about 28. 10 more as compare to Centennial.

The pathway program offered at George Brown College is just to make the PSW prepare for the PN program. You will not skip anything when you begin the PN class. Its like pre-health science once you successfully complete the program you will get a chance to enter PN without taking the pre-admission test, but it will depend on your overall average marks.

I check the outline course and compare them to other college and there are some differences in terms of the subject being offer. For the first 2 semester its more on communications and English for health science, and then it will go more in depth starting semester 3. From what I know since we are already working in a nursing home, our clinical will held in the hospital rather. Just like other Colleges offering RPN program, there is also a pre admission test if ever the admission requirements are not met.

A lot of my co-worker are actually interested with this new program since some of them are working full-time or just can't commit to go to school full-time. Remember Humber College also offer 3.5 years on their part-time program, but this one is not a bridging program.

There is now a bridge for PSW to PN offered at Conestoga College. For the first 3 semester the course will be teach once a week and then full time starting semester 4. The course also offered off site and they are planning to teach the course somewhere in Peel Region, but in order to make this thing happen they have to find at least 30 qualified students. It will take 3.5 to 4 years to finish the course. You can contact the College for more informations. You will need to send them your PSW certificate, updated resume and high school transcipt for evaluation.
