hey airforcewife, I just started the nursing program at rose and like you I did also have previous college credit, that was not in my favor. Luckily, for the GPA calculation for the points, the only classes they look at are prereqs for the program. The cutoff this year was 131 again, but it does vary from semester to semester. I know that personally, I got the most points by taking the compass test as many times as I had to, until I got the max points from it. I think you can take it up to 2 times per semester. Hope that helps.

has anyone gotten any letters YET? I anxiously check my mail everyday, and so far nothing. Just wondered if you all had heard anything yet?

luv2sew, I know one thing that helped me with studying for the compass, was using an ACT study book. I just kept going through it and I think that it really did help me alot. Don't worry, it will happen. Just don't give up.

Really!!! 131 would be great! I hope that we do get letters, the wait is so extremely hard!! As far as the schedule, all I have really heard is that it is Monday-Thursday for the day program. But other than that, I can't wait to find out.

hey everyone. I also applied to the nursing program at Rose. I applied last semester with 123, didn't get in. Applied again for fall semester, with a 134 and haven't heard back YET! Waiting is so hard!!

I did talk to the secretary for the nursing department and if you are applying to the beginning track program she said they should have the cutoff points available in the next two weeks. From that you can "unofficially" determine if you got in or not. If you are applying to the bridge program they already have the cutoff points determined, I believe she said 76, but not for sure. She was not able to tell me any thing closer than that. But hey, it is a start!

hey everyone! I was just wondering if anyone knew anything about when to expect letters from rose. I put in my application on February 1st, the deadline was March 1st. I was thinking should hear something back around the end of May or beginning of June. But was wondering if anyone has any better info than I have! Thanks!!

hi, I was told that the letters would go out around Thanksgiving, but the girl did not get any more specific than that. I would also love to know when they will go out. I think that both you and your husband have an excellent chance of getting in with those points. Yeah! :yeah:I was told that the cutoff is usually between 125-135, however, it can vary depending on the number of applicants and their points. Sounds like you will get in though. If anyone knows better on when the letters go out, I would love to know also!

Hey everyone, I have been reading through these threads for the past year and finally want to ask a question of my own. :typing I have been going to Rose and I am almost done with my prereqs I want to go ahead and put in an application,even though I most likely will not get in yet without all my course points. My question basically is about the preference points. What is the cutoff normally? Is it different if I want to do the online program? And lastly, does anyone have any recommendations on how to improve my Writing score on the compass test? My reading and math scores were good, but that dang writing part, gets me everytime.
