  1. Hey there. I'll be graduating in May (fingers crossed), looking to relocate from NJ out to UCLA for the new grad program for Summer 2011. Is that when you'd be applying? If you're looking for someone to chat back and forth with through the nerve-wracking process, drop me a line :)
  2. Well we made it! Congrats to everyone who got in, and those who got through level 1! Just figured I'd put my 2 cents in about books. I'd say get all the big textbooks for sure. Certain teachers can be quite confusing and you may need to clear things up for yourself. Other teachers take questions from the book about things they haven't spoken about even once in class (including very obscure facts), so get the books and read carefully. In our case, the Calculate with Confidence book wasn't necessary AT ALL though. I'm sure it all depends on the teachers you end up with though. As for other tips for beginners, I would say make good friends. You'll want them for study groups, as well as support. The program can be stressful, and having someone to talk to who's going through the same thing really helps! Of course, that's what this board is for too, so keep the posts coming.. Good luck!
  3. So just to prove how disorganized I really am: we start Thursday, right? Lol. And now that you're in 003, Steph, we have all our classes together :)
  4. lol I'm just assuming we need one because Ramapo is so insane about parking and I figured every school was like that. I have no idea where we get one... never got info about it.
  5. I'll be there. Any clue about parking? I didn't get my parking pass yet..
  6. Hey guys..anybody still check this thing? Anyway.. I placed my order for my books, but the shipping status now says I won't receive my books until Sept 1 - 15. If it turns out I don't have my books in time, does anyone know if the library has copies? Or could anyone be enticed into group reading/homework sessions (I'd bring snacks and drinks!) Thanks.. I would really appreciate it. :)
  7. Yeah, I lost (actually don't even remember getting) my info about the orientation. Any chance someone could scan and e-mail it? Or at least post the basics here?
  8. I think I'm gonna get 3: 1 for each day of clinicals each week and a backup in case one gets really stained or anything in clinicals.
  9. Lol thank you.. if you haven't already realized, I'm a pretty disorganized person. Well.. I guess there's a lot to know if it's all day. And we'll all get to meet eachother.
  10. Did we already get info about the nursing one? I don't remember that. When is it?
  11. Anyone going to new student orientation? Do we also have a nursing orientation too?
  12. Hey guys! Hope everyone had a good holiday weekend. I finally got my physical, malpractice, and CPR. Now just need books, uniforms, and the kit. Did you guys find the books cheap anywhere, because this is really adding up quick! An 80 page syllabus... ohhhh I am going to enjoy every ounce of summer before I even THINK about that. Lol
  13. Hey Mike! My name is Jenn. I'm also registered for all 003 classes, so you'll be seeing a lot of me. Congrats and good luck. See you all in a few weeks :)
  14. Conveniently planned the wedding for June 2011 though.. so I will have graduation AND a wedding to celebrate in two years
  15. I think we'll all be ok. It's nice to know we're all in the same boat with work and everything. I've heard so many people say that you can't work and do the Nursing Program... but we have to! And Isabella, you're planning a wedding too, right? Haha my head might explode. I have no idea how this is going to work out, but luckily my fiance and family are great too :) And at least we know we're not the only ones.
  16. Yes, I just graduated from Ramapo as well! Congratulations! And what a small world, huh?
  17. Hey guys! I'm in the 003 section for all 3 classes...and still trying to find a CPR class! There's nothing available between now and July 15th on the AHA website, so I'm trying to find someplace else. Still have to do the malpractice ins, book and kit buying, uniforms, and CPR. They gave us so much to do in so little time... plus I don't qualify for any financial aid, so I have no CLUE as to how I'm paying for it all. Eeesh. As for hospitals, and ex-boyfriend of mine did his clinicals at St. Joe's, Valley, Hackensack, and BRMC, but it all depends on where you get assigned. Can't wait to meet you guys in person! -Jenn
  18. Yup. Just register in WebAdvisor. Thanks for the link. We just need to have the CPR class before class starts, right? I could take it in August?
  19. I registered anyway. Couldn't get a Dr.'s appointment until the 23rd and if we don't register by the 25th we might lose our spot (supposedly). It won't stop you from registering. How did you find the CPR class?
  20. I know.. I took a trip up there today to get registration issues all straightened out. Lucky for us they treat nursing students like gold :) Hey.. anyone down for taking the CPR certification together with me? Maybe we could carpool or at least get to meet each other before class begins.
  21. I think so! Congrats!
  22. OK Guys!!! Check your webadvisor. Instead of Ready to Test NET, it now says.... ADMITTED! Good luck to all!
  23. Hey guys! Updated scores (class average) from the HESI are up. Here they are: Math: 81 Reading Comp: 73 Grammar: 80 Vocab: 67 Chem: 60 Bio: 60 A&P: 58 Fingers crossed and good luck to everybody! -Jenn
