  1. thanks for all the words of wisdom. I took my test last thursday and it shut of at 78. I live in California, so we can't get results in 2 days! I am scared.
  2. I take the NCLEX Thursday and am getting nervous. My problem is that I am getting ~68-72% on the NCLEX3000 CD ROM tests. I feel like I should be doing better! I got pretty good grades and took Kaplan. Any words of wisdom? Thanks
  3. I'm glad this was brought up. I have a "wet reckless" on my record and didn't know if I had to report it. I guess I will along with a letter. Do I need to attach court documents? What is that? How do I get them? TIA!
  4. Sorry everybody...I should have been more specific. In California and I think some other states there is something called a "wet reckless" when you are arrested for a DUI, but very near the legal limit. It is a lesser charge. I know that it does not count as being convicted of a DUI, but I think it may still be a misdemeanor (which you need to report to BRN when applying for the NCLEX-I think!)
  5. I can't find it anywhere...is a "wet reckless" a misdemeanor? Does it need to be reported to the BRN when applying for the NCLEX?
  6. I am graduating with my RN in May and am trying to decide where to apply for a job. I change my mind daily. I would actually love to find out what types of hospitals nurses thing are a good place to start. county? teaching? small? non-profit? any advice will be helpful! Thanks
  7. Hello, I am graduating in May and feel like I am behind because I have not applied for the NCLEX yet. I figured I could get some quick answers from you all. How far in advance do you have to apply? Do you just print out the app and send it in with all the other fees/requirements? Are there any disadvantages to getting an interim permit? TIA
  8. I am surprised that nobody has mentioned that nurses have very DIFFERENT jobs than doctors. I always get annoyed when people refer to doctors as an extension of nursing or a higher up nurse. Right now I have no desire to be a doctor. I want to be a nurse.
  9. I am graduating from an associates degree program in May and I want to start looking for a job now. What is the best way to get started? Should I contact nurse recruiters via e-mail? How many hospitals should I persue? What should I highlight in my resume? I have so many questions. Any help would be appreciated. TIA!
  10. What if someone comes in in normal active labor with no risk factors. They want a natural birth. Will they get an IV anyway??? Can the get the pitocin IM after the birth?
  11. Do they have a Jackson Pratt drain? What other considerations are there?
  12. I am a nursing student who will be graduating in May (hopefully!). I would like to get my resume together now, so that I have it available. I was wondering if anyone knows exactly what I put on it. Do I include all of my clinical experience from school?? Feel free to post your resumes here too. Thanks!
