  1. Thanks to all of you for your response. It seems that most of are looking for the same things when it comes to work. Pls. keep on posting your responses and at the end I will put up a graph or pie chart showing this in a more easy to see format. Sam
  2. Hi there, Before working at a hospital/facility, what are the most important things you take into consideration. Please list as many as you think appropriate. For me, the following matter: 1) Pay 2) Low stress levels 3) Relationship between staff (nurse-nurse, MD-nurse, manager-nurse) 4) Location Thanks for you input
  3. For the amount of work that goes into MAINTAINING the website (note: not starting), it really isn't worth the effort. Besides, when the managers do read this, they are aware for the most part, who the involved party is. This may have consequences. I don't mean this in a discouraging manner, but I don't think the concept is worth having a single website for. If I really need to vent, or even grade my manager, then there are a lot of forums (including this one) out there that allow me the opportunity. Which ever way you decide, good luck. SM
  4. ***Michigan BSC***, i have seen a few of your posts out there and appreciate your forward thinking. However, in starting a recruitment firm, you need to have worked with an agency to have a better understanding of how the business works. This is not a must, but these days this business has become extremely competitive AND the "big boys" are taking all the contracts under their wings, so eventually you will only be able to go thru them..........at a price! Be aware on people wanting to help; a few good souls may be willing to help, but the majority will take your money and fly. This business is not what it was 5-10 years ago where you made a call and a contract was ready. It was also unheard of agencies going out of business, but so many have gotten into it, that now you hear of agencies closing down. Pls. do not get discouraged with what I have to say here; all I am saying is do your research first. Then, when you really are stuck and need help, you will get it. As for the answer to your question:The "list" is compiled by an agency of all the vacant positions at various facilities that need to be filled. This list is started from scratch and is made by cold calling all the facilities. It can be very time consuming, so if you do find someone "selling" this list, pls do let me know. Good luck and PM me if you have any other questions.
  5. With the current economic situation, there have been a lot of changes in pay rates. Just so we are all more aware of the current pay rates can you pls. post the following: 1. State 2. City 3. Speciality (CNA, LPN/LVN, RN-Med/Surg., RN-NICU etc.) 4. Pay rates 5. Travel or Per Diem 6. Benefits offered by agency (pls. don't feel shy to be detailed)
