  1. Hi, I know this post is a year old but this is the only post I could find on the program.. I'm about to graduate and my school has an agreement with William Paterson where we can transfer seamlessly into the RN to MSN online program. My question is on the course work/load.. is it manageable with a full time day shift job? Is there an exam in patho / pharm every week? Also any other info on course load would be helpful
  2. Classroom training is 8-4:30, and once you get with the preceptor it's whatever time they come in & you stay there for 8 hours. So if they come in at 4 am you come in at 4 am and leave at 12 pm.
  3. Hi. I'm in my 2nd week of training. Training is for 12 weeks. The first two weeks are strictly classroom. ND the next ten mostly with the preceptor and but 1 or 2 days a week in the classroom. They do pay you while you train, and after the training, and if you pass the test, you get a raise. I can't tell you much because I just started, but it's so far so good. It seems like a great company to work for. Good luck. Let me know how it goes.
  4. Thanks so much for the response. Do you work for Davita as a tech?
  5. I just got hired at Davita as a tech. I have no dialysis experience. I have only worked in long-term care. What is training like? What are the perks? (if any) I will be working in NJ if that help. Any info is appreciated. TIA 😆
  6. Thanks a lot guys.. I was a little worried about that because not working is not an option. I think I might work 7-3 on saturdays and sundays and then try to pick up like 2 days during the week if I can. I work in a nursing home & I need to have at least 4 days if that's possible. Ill manage though. Thanks for the advice :)
  7. I want to take an LPN program, the only worry I have is that the program is Monday thru Friday, 7:30-2:30.. I have a son to take care of and I need to work. But I heard the course load is something serious.. How can I schedule working as a CNA around school and studying. I was thinking of working 7-3 every weekend and maybe two 3-11 shifts out of the week... does that sound like it will work. Any advice would be very helpful. Thanks in advance :)
  8. I just got my CNA cert nd just found out I was pregnant. I really need a job nd I'm thinking about working the night shift (11-7). would this shift be easier bc I'm pregnant? Any suggestions would be helpful. thanks.
  9. I take my skills test tomorrow and I am so nervous. The thing is not to be nervous nd take ur time. Always remember privacy, safety, nd infection control is key. so dnt forget hand washing, privacy curtain, nd to keep patient covered. Also if u get occupied bed make sure the sheet doesn't touch the ground. Dnt forget 2 pairs of gloves for bedpan. Also dnt forget to raise head after placing bedpan nd lower head before removing bedpan. Also dnt forget the handwipes. Also wipe hands before nd after feeding. Always remember privacy PRIVACY privacy. Like you said you know ur stuff so you'll be fine. Just relax nd take ur time
  10. I start a CNA class on April 18th nd finish on May 13th.. When should I start applying for jobs? Before the class ends? Will jobs still hire me even though I didn't finish yet?
  11. Monmouth County vocational school also offers one for $525 or something like that but they dnt start til September.. Idk if ur willing to wait that long but it's the least expensive I know of closest to u.. Hope I helped.
  12. I'm live in Monmouth County & Unemploment paid for mind at LTC Career Training... Idk if Ocean County Does it but call ur local one stop career center I'm pretty sure they can help you find a free course
  13. How long did it take you to get job in hospital while working as a CNA.. Nd do I need to pay for phlebotomy class in order to work in a hospital. any other info u can give me would be helpful... Thanks!
  14. both would be free for.me because I'm going through unemployment nd they pay for any training I want. The cna course us just quicker. But the PCT course seems better. Do u think u can get hired in a hospital after 3 to 6 months of ltc experience?
  15. I need help figuring out which training course to take. The cma nd pct cause both prepare u for certification in phlebotomy nd EKG but the downside is these classes are 5 to 6 months. I want to get in the nursing field quick nd the cna is only 4 weeks but doesn't prepare u for phlebotomy or EKG. Which one should I take. I want ev entually work IN a hospital one day after I get some experience under my belt. Is cna a wise decision?
  16. I want to be a nurse with all my heart, but I can't seem to get the hang of AP1 and I know that AP2 will be harder if I can't get AP1... The lecture is not the problem. If I study I know I will be fine with the lecture. Its the Lab!!! I have so much trouble remembering. Its like i just freeze up on the practicals. Can anybody help me with study tips. Also organizing notes. THANKS in ADVANCE!
  17. I live in Monmouth County and I am planning on taking a PCT course and was wondering the starting pay rate and any info about the techs that work there. Like how long is the orientation? Do all the techs have to work 12 hour shifts? Any info would be helpful even if you are not a tech and are a nurse that knows some info about any of these hospitals. Thanks in advance.
  18. Thanks so much, I was looking for something like this:)
  19. I want to take a medical assistant course and these are the links to the two options that I was looking at.
