does smoking really cause lung cancer?
Just 2 evenings ago, I went to an inservice on lung cancer. One on of the first slides presented, the lecturer said: "This is an interesting slide. It shows both the cancer and the cause." The scan slide showed a large tumor in the right lung--and a pack of cigarettes over the left. Edited to correct a typo.

cracking at corners of mouth
I get this--it can be very painful at times. My dermatologist diagnosed it as eczema, which I have had before. I use Aclovate ointment when it is bad and acquafor moisterizer very frequently. That seems to keep it under control.

Stony Brook
Take the Long Island RailRoad to Penn Station. There is a train station near the hospital. Then take the subway to Columbia.

ER last night made me mad!
I noticed the remark and I was offended. If that were a real ER, there probably WOULD have been some bedpan slinging. And Weaver would have needed to duck. The show has turned into a overly melodramatic soap opera. Does anything good ever happen to these people? As soon as Pratt showed off his new car you knew where that was headed. Can't any staff member be shown showing up for work, working all day without any personal crises and going home to a normal family? Surely someone in that ER could have had a normal social life, married and had children without major complications I can't help wondering with the type of rough life Sam had, when she was able to go to nursing school.
