  1. I don't know if this is right, but I am typing them up separately because there are just a few study guide questions. Also, I'm not even sure we receive points for it but I figure what the heck. So far, I have read the chapter and took notes and thought I knew the material well until I did the study guide (and I missed a lot of the questions it turns out), so I am just going to have to do all those questions every chapter anyway I guess.
  2. I think the prep items are listed in the syllabus...I hope they are the study guide prep things listed after the required reading, because that's what I did.
  3. The first month it seems we have nothing on Tuesdays (for us in the Th/F lab/clinical). Is that right? I thought we'd be on campus 4 days/wk.
  4. I just went online and the bookstore doesn't list a lab syllabus yet. Did anyone see one in the bookstore? Is that the nursing skills module? Thanks for any tips.
  5. Is there a separate lab syllabus? Online I only saw one syllabus but remember in orientation them talking about sometimes there is a separate one for lab.
  6. Today the syllabus is available to purchase on line if you are doing it that way. Even though it's 8.50 to ship it, by the time I add in gas and babysitter, it's cheaper for me to order through the mail.
  7. I will try RN, sounds like a good overview mag. Thank you for the tip!!
  8. I saw mine on line just now--I have the 2-5 class. When do we know what lab day/clinical days we have? I need to plan for child care and am getting a little nervous. Thanks for any insights!
  9. I am about to start a nursing program but have no idea what specialty I'll end up in. Can anyone recommend a magazine/periodical I should subscribe to that will help me learn the most about nursing? Thanks.
  10. Thanks for the tip! I will get it asap just to get a feel for what this fall has in store for us.
  11. Has anyone heard when the 1410 syllabus will be in the bookstore? I talked to someone at the bookstore and they said that when they have it in, we will know because there will be a price next to the item when you search in the buy online portion of their web site...so I'm checking daily and no dice yet.
  12. In addition to all the other supportive emails, I think you should tell your mom that nursing has so many different specialties, including options at businesses and governments, that most people will find an area that works for them. Nursing is now an industry almost all by itself. That is if you think she'll listen. My mom is like that too and I have over the years just grown to accept that while she says horrible things, my mom does good things and I try to focus on that (while limiting my exposure on days I am just not up for that kind of negative crap). Best of luck and congratulations on trying anything new given that sort of nonsupportive mom. You have already proven you are tough by that alone!
  13. My doc is sending my titer costs through my insurance but says not to get my hopes up, I will probably have to pay it all despite having insurance as it is elective. Bummer!
  14. I get my pox titer results tomorrow (just had it done at my regular doc), don't know how much but I was warned it will be $$$$. I'll let you know how much it costs.
