Hi, I just wanted to give you a lil information and I hope it helps. I took the NCLEX today and I am also a terrible test taker. Luckily, I made it through nursing school. I understand concepts, etc. but the NCLEX was something else to me. A majority of the questions were what would the nurse do initially, who would you see first, who would you discharge, and there were a few other random things. Basically to be honest the test was completely random. I am really worried that I didnt pass although I felt prepared and confident. I have had friends that had 75 questions, 124 questions, 83 questions and 265 questions and passed and that is the only thing giving me hope. While there definitely were a few knowledge questions where if you did not know the manifestations of a disease, you were not going to get it right. But, I think it is completely unrealistic to truly study everything in the Saunders book. I would definitely look over areas of weakness, for example neuro disorders so you will be comfortable if faced with a question. If I find out on Wed that I have to retake it, I dont know where I would begin to study all over. I did a lot of practice questions and I will probably try and double the amount this time because that helps me the most over reading. If I can offer any other advice, it would be to find a way that you can relax. I thought I was going to be fine but as soon as I sat down my nerves got a hold of me. As soon as I began getting hard questions I completely lost my train of thought. And I really believe that hurt me. Take a break, walk around, realize that you are putting everything you can into it and you will pass! :) Good luck. I hope I have helped a little anyway.
