  1. I am a final year learning disability nurse/social worker in the UK and will graduate in August 2006 (thankfully!). I used to live in NZ a few years ago and my intention has always been to move back permanently on qualifying, but I am unsure of how to go about this and what the best course of action would be. If anyone can help me out with as mush information as possible I would be so grateful! I am looking to move back to Auckland. I would prefer to have permanent residency status, but am not sure whether this is possible straight away or whether it would be easier to get a work-to-permit visa and apply for residency after having been in NZ for a while? Also - where are the best places to work in or around Auckland learning disability services-wise? I obviously want to work for the most forward-thinking service. Is it best to go through an agency to find me work before leaving the UK and if so what egencies are available? I have so many questions! Thanks for taking the time to reply! Jo :roll
  2. Karen (or indeed anyone!) I qualify as a learning disability nurse and social worker in August and was planning on starting the application for residency/work to residency at that time. I was wondering what information you think I may need to know? I am getting a bit concerned for some reason that I won't be able to get in - I can't imagine living anywhere else though! If anyone can help me to get started - what do I need to do? Who do I need to speak to? Do I need to get a job offer before applying? Is it best to go through agencies and if so what are the best ones? HELP!!! Thank you all fo ryour time Jo
  3. Hi Karen I qualify as a learning disability nurse and social worker in the uk this August and was planning on starting my application for residency/work to residency on qualifying. As you seem to be doing a similar thing, I would be very grateful for any information you could give me. I'm getting a bit worried that I won't be able to move there for some reason, as the immigration people told me that they are only accepting applications if you already have a job offer. New zealand is the place I call home as I used to live there (working visa and holiday visas) and I don't know what i'd do if I can't settle there permanently! Thank you for your help Jo
