  1. I use quizlet! Quizlet has GREAT practice questions ?
  2. I have a bachelors degree in non nursing. My overall GPA was 3.4 and my HESI cumulative was an 84. I was accepted.
  3. If you don’t mind me asking did you cap your student loans with FAFSA? don’t forget you can have up yo 20k of your loans forgiven. The application period for that on the website already opened. Look into that. I would also suggest speaking with a financial advisor at st thom. They’ll recommend scholarships and other resources. They’re very sweet and always willing to help. I made a go-fund me account and that also gave me a good chunk. I wouldn’t give up on the co-signer thing tho ask around it doesn’t hurt. It can be ANYONE as long as their credit is okay. Exhaust all your options! I was in your boat at one point. Don’t give up.
  4. I capped my loans with FAFSA because I graduated with a bachelors in a different field at UH. I took a private loan from college ave. Look them up! They’re well known and interest isn’t bad. You will need a co-signer with good credit though. They approved me for the full 60k.
  5. There are 6 classes first semester but 4 of them are 8 weeks instead of the usual 16 weeks. So you’ll be taking pathopharm 1 for 8 weeks before starting pathopharm 2 for the second 8 weeks. You’ll only be taking 4 classes at a time in the entire semester. Also, don’t jump into things because you have a tough year ahead. Enjoy your time now but if you’d like to review I would suggest reviewing acid base imbalances since most people struggle with that. Review your basic A&P. We’ll be in the same cohort ? see you soon!
  6. You specifically have to apply for their ABSN Spring 2023 program on nursing cas.
  7. Can you give me an example? I’m sorry it’s been a few weeks since I’ve completed the application process so I forgot!
  8. I just got accepted!! lectures are all online/ labs in person / clinicals in person. Exams quizzes for both lab & lecture are in person!!
  9. Don’t give up girl you sound extremely intelligent and very capable honestly all I can think of is probably limited seating. Maybe they had a few seats left and someone with higher stats got the placement. Doesn’t mean you don’t meet the criteria. Try again I promise you’ll get in just don’t give up ? good luck to you! Maybe we’ll be in the same cohort
  10. I don’t think it has to do with racism LOL… a lot of things play part in your acceptance. She may have applied EARLY which guaranteed her a spot. There’s other things to take into consideration like awards, volunteer hours, experience, etc. anything to make you stand out. Your stats are really good. If you could not get in try again they may accept you the second or third time around don't give up
  11. First of all, just because you deal with depression does not mean you cannot succeed in anything you do. You are more than capable despite the challenges you may face in this life. Don’t let comments like this hold you back from living the dreams you have for yourself. All it takes is drive, consistency, & perseverance which you are MORE than capable of. That comment was so rude I’m sorry I had to put my intake on it.
  12. I do not! I’ve been in a nursing program before but I withdrew due to personal reasons (family concerns) I am going back though. Both have been 12 month ABSN programs :)
  13. Hey! I completely understand your concern because I also have severe anxiety/attention deficit. I won’t sugar coat it is INTENSE. You will have to sacrifice A LOT. But you just have to remind yourself that it’s temporary. Studying may require 12-14 hours a day. But if you haven’t gotten in yet, my best advice to you is to seek a professional that can help you with your anxiety prior to getting into your desired program. I am not a huge fan of medication, but sometimes it can be beneficial. Get your mental health in order prior to taking on this huge transition. & remember, you can accomplish ANYTHING if you truly set your mind to it. So many people stress about this but what they fail to remember is many people do it and get through it; Therefore it is doable and attainable! ?
  14. Hi Zoya! I did have one question for you. As of now, which semester have you found to be more challenging? Semester 1 or 2?
