  1. Hi, all first of all I really appreciate you all reading and taking time to help. I currently reside in the Midwest. My husband works in IT and received a job offer in San Antonio that would really be amazing for his career. So, I am moving to texas. I have 2 years of experience at both a level 3 and a level 4 I have my CCRN-NIC. I am hoping to work in a NICU with an amazing team, I am so blessed to have the best staff at my current hospital and am so sad to leave. However, I have had phone interviews with some large childrens hospitals and they offered me 29 dollars an hour non-negotiable per the recruiters. Is this typical for texas? I currently make 32 dollars an hour on day shift and honestly I thought that was on the lower end for nurses I’ve heard some new grads say they make over my hourly pay. All the positions I have applied for have been night shift I know I will be hard pressed to find a day shift position and that is okay. I’m just trying to figure out where I should be applying/ what I should expect because I was a little shocked with the offers.
  2. Hey all, I have been a nurse for 2 years. I have experience at both level 3 and 4 facilities. I currently reside in the Midwest, but am looking to relocate anywhere. I have nothing holding me here. Nicu is my specialty and I’m not super interested in traveling I would prefer to find a team I love and a job I like to come into. I love my job but it’s become very commonplace to have inappropriate assignments at my facility. I’m ready to move on but I don’t want to leave to a worse situation. I would love if anyone with travel experience or a past staff job they loved could give me so guidance on their favorite spots/ how to find a new nicu that is a good fit! Thank you :)
