  1. Where should a student be by the end of an 11 shifts in 8 weeks (130 hours) senior capstone internship? Is it expected that they are able to fully take & give report independently? Be able to assess a patient and know the next steps that need to be addressed to the physician? How good should the critical thinking skills or nursing skills be in general??
  2. Hi! I’m going to be a new grad nurse here soon and I am very interested in pediatrics! However, there are no children hospitals near me. Our only Peds experience around here are units that are basically medsurg but will also take the Peds patients if/when there are any admissions (never have seen more than 3 on the unit at once). Does anyone work on a similar unit? I’m just curious to learn more about how that works combining adults + Peds, ratios, if it’s worth working medsurg just for Peds experience, etc.
