Langara Nursing Fall 2022
Hey there, I am in the same boat as you and was debating to retake English to bump up my GPA. However, I haven't bothered to retake it since they look at the most recent attempt & not the highest grade. You can take the equivalents at Douglas/Langara/VCC if you choose to redo them. Personally, this is what I would do: - Wait for the decisions for this intake to come out around April. - I would apply for the Spring 2023 intake in the upcoming Feb since Spring is less competitive. If you end up taking English during the January semester, you should meet the application/documentation deadline for the Spring 2023 semester. Once again, if you get a lower mark your GPA will be affected. Although, I do think a 3.6 and higher is generally a safe average. It is totally up to you what you decide! Hopefully, this helped?

Langara Nursing Fall 2022
Hey, You need to take PSYCH 1115 and 1215 as a prereq for the PSYCH 2321 course, I don’t think you can take 2321 without doing them first! Honestly, I found PSYC 1215/1115 to be easy classes with almost no math involved, except for learning about mode/mean/median. These two classes are more involved with behaviour, personality, thinking, memory, consciousness, learning, and more. It’s just the PSYCH 2321 course which is heavy on the math ? Hopefully I answered your question, feel free to ask away!

Langara Nursing Fall 2022
Hey! Honestly, I am not the best at math, and is my most hated subject! I would do anything to avoid it LOL. However, the course itself was not too bad. You learn all about notations, intro to stats, standard deviation, variances, probability, and z scores. Some of the info you are building on, which is based on what you learned in PSYC 1215/1115 like mean, mode, and median. There are lots of formulas to remember to calculate certain things like variance, deviation, mean, and etc. Overall, it was pretty good just lots of calculating and formulas involved. Good luck with your prereqs and feel free to ask anything else! :)

To be honest, I would not advise using online GPA calculators as they can be very inaccurate. I would instead call Langara to speak to an admissions advisor and they will calculate it for you in seconds! I used an online calculator as well and they predicted my GPA was 3.4 when in reality it was not.

Yeah, my CASPer test is on November 4th at 5 PST. High key nervous about it because it's going to be my first time doing a test of that sort. Got so happy when I heard that was my GPA because many people have gotten in with a 3.6! I was hoping there would be more of us who could participate in this forum? I literally cannot wait till February/March for a decision LOL

I did take BHSC 1200 at BCIT and got an 89% on my first try! It is such a heavy course in my opinion but worth it. I ended up calling Langara and the admissions advisor calculated my CGPA and it is a 3.668 not 3.468. This gives me a lot of hope since it gives me a better chance of getting in!! I registered for my CASPer test about a month and a half ago and it is next month ?
