UNF Accelerated BSN 2021
Hi! I would be happy to answer any questions you have. I'm currently in my third semester in the APL program - I'll be graduating this Summer. It's a great program! I started Summer 2021 and hit the ground running. It took me about two weeks to adjust to the work load and expectations. The workload can be intense but you get into a groove and your cohort really supports you. Most of the classes are set up with online readings and lectures for you to review before class. Lecture time is for discussing specific topics and answering questions. Almost all of the professors are wonderful and truly care about your success. Right now, in the third semester, I have clinicals for Complex/Critical Care (10 - 12hr shifts), Peds (4 - 10 hr shifts), and Women's Health (4 - 10hr shifts). These are kind of luck of the draw with placement and timing. Some people get their clinicals more spaced out vs all together. Feel free to private message me if you have more specific questions! Hope this helps!

Congrats! I got my books from Amazon and it was fine. Mine came with access codes as well which I was able to use. Everyone in our cohort is super friendly. I still haven't met all of them in person (they break us up into small groups for skills check-offs). But I look forward to seeing them more next semester. The most challenging part for me was adjusting to the workload - took me about 2 weeks to get used to the schedule and the amount of time I needed to study for each class. A lot of the classes have been self study which has been challenging. Hopefully that will change next semester being back on campus.

Congrats! Happy to hear you were accepted for Fall 2021! Which program did you get into? Overall, first semester has been pretty good. Very busy and a lot of self study since we are still online. It will be nice to be back on campus for Fall.

Hi! Not sure if you have already or not but we have an official facebook Group that Dr. Dibble helped us start https://www.facebook.com/groups/446737183198688 Also, not sure if you are in the Group Me chat but there was discussion earlier today that classes will be online with in-person clinical starting partway through Summer C. She did highly recommend we were in commutable distance when the program starts in May. More information should hopefully be coming out in the next week.

The interview is such a big part of the overall score that practice is honestly what worked for me. My stats aren’t amazing, I just really focused on selling myself and being prepared for any question. Certainly use this interview as a learning experience and work on the things you want to improve on.

That’s amazing, congratulations!! When I was waitlisted before Beth sent out updates for the people on the waitlist. She let us know a week after decisions were out that she was done calling people off the list to fill empty spots. She then gave us the decision if we wanted to remain on the waitlist or not. Super happy for you on UCF! Wishing you the best too!

Thank you! It was a tough interview. I really hope you get off the waitlist! UCF decisions came out yesterday, I’m sure spots will open up.

I am happy to share anything I can! My stats: TEAS 88, Overall GPA 3.2, Prereq GPA 3.8 (I think). The interview really matters! I prepared a lot differently this round. I made a document listing all potential questions and made bullet points to give myself ideas on what I wanted to talk about. I practiced a lot- with my husband, in the mirror, driving, etc. I also had my husband look up questions to ask me that I wasn’t prepared for. Also, always be prepared for the first question to throw you off. The other interview I had at UNF also had a surprising first question (What is a question you would ask a candidate if you were the interviewer). Also, just relax. Be confident in yourself and your answers. Don’t be worried about going first or last every time. I answered last nearly every time on this last interview. Let me know if I can answer anything else for you!

Hi everyone! I stumbled on this page the morning of the interview. I was the 11 am time slot, group 8. I finally got in and am super excited to meet everyone! I would be very interested in a facebook group. I also want to share some of my experience. This was my third time applying to the UNF ABSN program. I feel for everyone who was waitlisted or didn’t get in this round. The first time I was waitlisted and the second time I was denied. If I can give any advice it is to be persistent. It will happen, I wish everyone the best!
