  1. I need help choosing the correct specialty for "now" to help pave my path to my ultimate goal in ER or ICU. I've been an LPN since 2017. I've only had a year of experience working in geriatrics prior to becoming a stay at home mom. I graduated from an ADN program December 2022. My skills are rusty but I flourished in my classes. Currently, I need a job that can offer flexibility in scheduling due to child care. With that being said, a Nurse residency program will not work out due to the vigorous schedule/ rotation. I have per-diem and part time offers for the following.... -Acute care rehabilitation hospital (Encompass) -Ambulatory care -Inpatient Psychiatric hospital -School Nurse Which starting point would you pick and why? Any other suggestions?

  3. Hello everyone, I’m in a slight panic. I just received a phone call from a Nursing recruiter about a Pediatric ER Residency program for Nemours. They’ve scheduled an interview in 5 days… 12/28!! I was hoping to brush up on general Peds knowledge and Peds emergency for application type questions. I don’t think I have much time to prepare. Any, and I MEAN ANY advice, tips, comments anything is appreciated!! Background: I’ve been an LPN for 5 years and just graduated with my ADN couple of weeks ago. I’ll be taking my NCLEX next month

  6. Hello to my fellow Nurses, I'm in the last semester of my RN program. Lately, I've been overwhelmingly concerned about how my family dynamic will be as a full-time Nurse with a husband who is an airline pilot, and 2 toddlers 4 & 5 years old. My husband prefers that I take an easy office job 9-5, M-F so the kids will be in daycare. However, I've reached this point in my life and would like to challenge myself and join the ICU residency program in my state. My ultimate goal is to become an ICU Nurse. For the Nurses who work full time and especially with a husband who is gone often HOW DID YOU DO IT?! How did you manage house chores, child-care, care for yourself, and time for your husband? I have been a stay-at-home mom all this time and my days now are shorter than ever. I can't even imagine what life will be like adding on a full-time position. Please shed some light! tell me anything, I want to hear it all! Thank you!
  7. Not sure about the seating fee or orientation. They just sent my acceptance letter. I know we will be having a zoom answer and question sometime next week.
  8. LOVE this!! Thank you so much! I just received my acceptance letter, I literally had happy tears streaming down my face in a middle of a work out. LOL. I will definitely keep these advice as they are very useful and helpful. Thanks again! Was your schedule like a M-F? I'm looking at my program and its M-F for 2 semesters. I need to figure out child care now.
  9. My application deadline was on March 15 for the Stanton location. I used my dtcc email
  10. Same to you! Maybe I'll see you around ? How many point did you apply with? I wonder what the current 'in' points are.
  11. hey! just got accepted. I received the email this morning. Did you get yours yet? I hope you did!
  12. just received my acceptance letter for the advanced placement seating for Fall 2021, Stanton.
  13. WOW! Any tips or recommendations as to balancing family life? What would you have done differently if you could do it again? That's very motivating to hear you go through the program while working full time! I am so anxious and trying to wrap my mind about figuring out a balance and not neglecting too much on one side. Thanks for replying back. Reading your post was encouraging.
  14. I hope you get in as well!! That's a higher chance compared to 8. How many points are you applying with? My nursing advisor said 16 would be the best outcome but 15 would give me a chance. What seat are you applying for? I applied to start for fall semester. It will be several weeks before I hear anything. My nerves are shot LOL!
