  1. Hi guys, I'm currently in nursing school and have heard of a few strange nursing "fixes" that people use, such as coke to unclog G tubes. I know that that is debatable, but I was wondering if there's any more of these "fixes" that are known or if anyone has any stories of strange ways problems were solved while working with a patient.
  2. I really don't think this would be allowed and again, anything covering or going behind my ears would affect my hearing aids.
  3. Hi everyone! I'm a nursing student in the south and have heat intolerance. I'm a very sweaty person because of this. Almost everytime I have a hospital clinical, I go into a patients (usually sweltering hot) room and begin to profusely sweat. I obviously don't want to drip sweat onto my patient, and am making changes to continue avoiding that. The biggest issue I have is sweat drips into my eyes and then I can't see or touch my face. I bought this mega babe top to toe powder at ulta and I've noticed it helps to soak up the oil and not leave my bangs wet, but it doesn't stop sweat and that has been getting into my eyes when it drips down my forehead and that's obviously not good for me. I can't really wear a headband because I have my glasses, hearing aids, and mask looped on my ears and if anything else is behind them my hearing aids won't stay on. Our dress code is strict, with scrubs that are not breathable, having no individuality, certain headbands only are allowed, etc. My teacher even had an issue with my bangs but we settled that. I'm at a loss here. I tried using clinical strength antiperspirant under my breasts to help with that and I got a rash and was still profusely sweaty, so I don't think that's an option. Does anyone have any ideas of what I can do or some advice?
  4. I’ve already applied and been accepted. I want to be a nurse but I also want to work as an art therapist part time
  5. I definitely understand that and I know that it’s so much more than art and that’s also why I want to do it, specific states have different guidelines and it’s very unclear to me what to do as mine has virtually none and I would like to pursue it as a part time thing, like how my medical teacher teaches us and then works at the hospital on certain days at night for a few days a week. I have absolutely no idea how I could even begin to get a certification
  6. Hi! I’m about to start nursing school and have taken medical classes all throughout high school. I was supposed to be working a hospital internship with my school but then COVID-19 happened? Anyways, I would like to become a nurse and work with children, but also be an Art therapist as well for kids with mental disabilities and or physical ones. I can’t find anything that’s specific for my state and was wondering if I could even be an art therapist with a nursing degree
