Hi, I'm sorry for the late reply. Yes the class portion does focus on mostly specific women's health and newborn information. Also includes some general info. It's nothing like nursing school...you will learn mostly from your floor orientation but the class does a great job reinforcing some info. I'm not sure about the average age. I'm thinking maybe mid to late 20s??

Hi! I'm currently in the fellowship program for st Joe's. I started in January. I hope all of you hear from them soon with good news! ?

We have a total of 6 (including myself). Two nurses are new grads. It's great to start with a group because they provide much needed moral support. ?

It's been great. The first week was mostly general hospital orientation and general skills. This week I got to follow a lactation consultant and then we have 2 more days of classes. Next week I start two 12 hour shifts with one day of class. The program is very organized. Everyone is so friendly and eager to be there. It seems like a wonderful place to work in already. I'm in Orange. If you read the comments above, we went over some stuff about the selection process that may also be helpful to you. ?

I used a floor supervisor and a manager. I think an assistant nurse manager would definitely count. Wish you the best of luck with your new application! It sounds like they did add a few additional requirements.

No I only had a cover letter and a list of references attached to my application for the fellowship program. Then, after I did the interview, they sent an email asking for 5 professional references (2 being managers) to complete a survey about your work ethic. Not sure if you're still looking but you can check St. Joseph's Hospital in Orange, CA. They are under Providence Hospitals and they have a program for new grads and experienced nurses to get trained into a specialty. In fact, I'm starting in their fellowship program for experienced nurses for their L&D unit in January. It's not a new grad program but I know they have had opportunities for new grads before. I would keep them in mind. Good luck!

I actually got a direct call from the manager of the unit. After my interview with the manager and 2 other people, I got an email asking for 5 references, then waited 1.5 weeks to get a call letting me know I got into the program. The person that called me said she's the hiring coordinator but that there will be someone else emailing me with my offer letter. So I'm not exactly sure if I ever got in touch with an actual recruiter.

I turned in my video interview on Sept 18th. Then I got a call to schedule a Microsoft teams interview on Oct 12th and had that interview on Oct 15th. They asked me general questions like...tell me about yourself, why do you want to work at St Joe's, why L&D, what do you see yourself doing in 5 years. I barely got a call yesterday telling me that I was accepted to the fellowship program. Maybe they could barely be making their decisions. I checked online and the application status was update on Oct 27th. I hope you hear some good news soon. If you have any other questions let me know. St Joe's in orange.

Hi! I applied for the fellowship program that starts in January 2021. I chose L&D as my first choice and received a call for an interview through Microsoft teams. Today, about a week and a half later, I received a call letting me know I was selected for their fellowship program in L&D. They said I will receive an email with my job offer in one to two days. Have you heard anything back?
