  1. I'm an RN for 10yrs now, I was and remained a single mom the entire 18yrs with my son. I recieved no child support, no assistance either. Yes I believe and have lived very comfortable life both me and my son. I specialize in Psychiatric Nursing.
  2. I'm a RN with 10yrs experience. I recall from nursing school I can never forget.." From your very detailed post of actual situation, you guys are excellent nurses. " you went with your nurses instincts." The child presented with what described as being in possible acute respiratory distress, reported SOB and chills. No medical hx or meds on file, the parent seemed unsure. In settings like schools you I would believe theres limited resources to assess a child, your " Nursing Assessment" is in my opinion is most important. As a parent, even though the outcome was stable I would be thankful as the kids are like your own when caring for them. Your excellent nurses and compassionate. Good job.
  3. I've been an RN for 10 years and have been in the same situation. First did they not meet before 9 weeks with concerns with a plan with goals? In my opinion if 2 weeks is all you get for reevaluation, move on because this employer wants you off orientation quick and throw you on the floor. You'll find managment and fellow employees beside you just bully you. If they let you go it wasnt meant to be and you want an employer who encourages educating and teaching nurses while working, experience or none. Again your not alone I've been there. Keep your head up, kill them with kindness and do your best. We all make mistakes matter the experience and learn from the entire situation!
