LVN working in a clinic setting I wanted to apply for a position that opened up yesterday. I emailed my boss that I had interest last week before the person from said position retired. No reply from the boss. I then face-to-face asked my boss today if a requisition was opened for that position yet. She said “no, but somebody else has already expressed interest though.” I said, “well, I would like to express interest also.” She said, empathetically, “we have to consider everything though.” I am upset. Is that even legal!?! I feel like my right to equal opportunity was blown right out of the water. I have had nothing but good feedback from my work there. Never in any trouble. Any advice?
