Ontario Second Entry Nursing Fall 2020
I believe most schools have classes and clinical online, but some schools (UofT) have in-person clinical ?

Ontario Second Entry Nursing Fall 2020
Hi! The deadline is usually February 1st for supplemental applications, but sometimes a bit earlier for the OUAC application. I forget exactly when but I believe for U of T it was in mid-January. Personally, I did my OUAC applications (I applied to UofT, Western, Queens and Nipissing) in November of 2019 for September 2020 entry. If you're using BIOL 230 as a pre-req, you can still get accepted- your offer will just be conditional on you finishing the course with a certain grade. So if you submit an application prior to finishing BIOL 230, it's fine (you just have to send a transcript for proof of enrolment). Especially considering you'll be done at the end of January, you can just send your transcript in with the final grade when you're done. Unless you meant that you would hold off on applying all together if you don't get a certain grade? I'm not sure what you meant by wanting to have the mark before applying. I hope this helped!

Ontario Second Entry Nursing Fall 2020
Hi! These second entry programs are for students who have completed a certain number of courses at a university level, but most applicants have completed a Bachelor's degree already. For college students, typically there is an RPN-RN bridging route where you complete a college diploma to become a Registered Practical Nurse and then transfer later to a university RN program.

Any U of T internal applicants know if we need to get a new TCard, or if we just use the old one?

As far as I know, the % is how much of a full course load you're taking. In standard undergrad programs its 5 courses- but its relative. The instructions on how to determine the % tells you that your school determines the number of credits that make up a full course load. So if you're enrolled in all of the courses per semester then you're taking 100% of the course load. I'm not entirely sure if that is correct as it's my first time doing OSAP but I submitted mine as 100%.

I think it's pretty rare for them to accept someone without their degree/anyone not in their last year of undergrad. I'm sure there are some exceptions though!

Canadian RN- US Nurse Residency Programs
Hello, This is probably a premature post, as I haven't started school yet, but I'm wondering about US Nurse Residency Programs and if you are able to apply for these as a Canadian RN. I have a previous BSc degree and will be completing a 20 month accelerated BScN program in September. I have heard a lot about Nurse Residency programs in the US and they seem like an excellent way to begin your career, especially after doing an accelerated program where you may not have as much experience starting out. We don't seem to have these types of programs here in Canada, aside from a few similar programs at very few hospitals. I know there is quite a bit of work involved to work in the US (applying for state license, visa etc) and that this would still need to happen to begin a nurse residency program, but I'm looking for some insight on these programs in general & if anyone has any experience doing this as a Canadian. Thanks!

Ontario Second Entry Nursing Fall 2020
Has anyone received any scholarship updates/info from U of T yet? Last I heard they had said we'd hear back beginning of May.

Ontario Second Entry Nursing Fall 2020
The letter says "since the place reserved for you is sought by other candidates, should you choose to accept this offer you must do so by the date indicated and according to the instructions on your Offer of Admission". The date is June 1st so perhaps there are other applicants that will accept/decline by Monday and they'll send out the next round at the end of next week? Just speculating

To anyone waiting on Western, I just received an acceptance. I won't be accepting as my application was actually incomplete, so I'm surprised I was given an offer. Check your emails!

The nursing society created an official one for us, you can find it by searching: Class of 2022 - Bloomberg Faculty of Nursing (U of T) I also haven't heard anything, accepted first week of April... someone posted here earlier saying they had asked about this and was told we would hear updates at the beginning of May

Ontario Second Entry Nursing Fall 2020
I know its frustrating due to the uncertainty, but I'm pretty hopeful that things will begin somewhat normally in the Fall. On the Covid FAQ page for Bloomberg it just states that clinical is paused for the current year until July 6th. I'm assuming they will be able to re-evaluate at this point, and given that the reason for canceling clinical is due to the preceptors/instructors being directly engaged with the increased patient load, I think clinical will resume once our cases decline and the province starts to re-open. I totally get being worried about losing the clinical time, especially since we're in a compressed program ? I also don't think deferring an acceptance for UofT is very straightforward, it says they will review deferrals on a case-by-case basis (so it isn't guaranteed that you can defer, even if you wanted to) but that they don't expect any change to the program start date. Crossing my fingers everything will work out as planned!

Ontario Second Entry Nursing Fall 2020
Hey! So as far as I know they look at the most recently completed 5.0 FCE at the time you apply (so for you, I assume this would be Winter 2020, Fall 2020). I did my undergrad at UofT and will be going there for nursing as well, at the time I applied I had already graduated and finished the UofT pre-reqs, so I'm not sure what the conditional offers are like. One of my friends who got accepted to UofT was just told to complete the pre-req she was doing by July 15th. I did apply to Nipissing & Queens as well, and for those I enrolled in an anatomy course that was a pre-req. I got accepted to both with conditional offers saying I had to complete my pre-req by a certain date (June). I think generically, most of the conditional offers just state that you have to finish your current degree with a certain GPA, for Queen's it was a 2.7 The average to get accepted is much higher than the grades you have to maintain in order to keep your acceptance. For now I would focus on maintaining the great grades you have into the Fall, as those are what they will see when they make the initial admission decisions. If a decision isn't made prior to your Winter 2021 grades becoming available, they may factor those in, so you would want to try your best even with the hard courses you're planning on taking. Try not to stress too much ?
