  1. Can people go straight from BSN into a Masters program for teaching? More specifically, I would like to work while going to a part time Masters program, thus I would not be completely without floor experience. The Nursing field in general seems like its very entrenched in requiring that new nurses "suffer" or "earn their place" before they can do anything else, so I'm wondering if this move might be looked down upon because I didn't earn my stripes first?
  2. Yeah I heard they do not have anything (no powerpoints, no classes) besides reading assignments that tell them to read the whole book, and online module that just skim the topics. Not sure how accurate that is, but that seems to be the consensus that I'm getting. I think I'd be ok with teaching myself, but I am still not sure! I wish they had real actual pass rates and drop out rates for just the online program so I can see real figures instead of relying on rumors and such.
  3. Thanks for the info, that is a shame that you have to repeat the class, I hope you get through it ok! And wow, thought only the Online program made you teach yourself because they have no classes at all, only reading assignments from the book and poorly made online modules (apparently). Did they at least give you power points in the evening program?
  4. Hi everyone, I was wondering if anyone knows if nursing programs are required to release their success rates / graduation rates due to the Student Right To Know Act or any other act/ law? I am looking at a very large, well known community college that offers multiple programs that have a reputation for being the best in my state, however I can not seem to find or get anyone at the school to give me actual graduation rate data. This is especially important because they have three large campuses, and each campus has one to three programs. Each program has different success rates according to student forums/ word of mouth. I'm wondering if it is normal to "hide" success rates, and not publish them some where?
  5. Hi everyone, I posted this question in the Fall topic as well hoping for a response. I want to apply for the Fall 2020 semester for the Catonsville Online program, but I heard it is harder than the other programs, and the graduation rate is very low/ drop out rate is high. Does anyone know where I can find stats on the success rate? I'm trying to compare the online program with the Essex evening/weekend program. I feel like those numbers should be publicly available (I think that is part of the Student Right To Know Act)? I talked briefly to a girl in the hybrid program recently in passing and she said a lot of people in her class either dropped the program or failed out, but she didn't have time to elaborate, and it kind of scared me because that was my first choice of program. I tried talking to an adviser, and they couldn't give me hard numbers, only that "it is very challenging".
  6. Is there anyone on here from the Catonsville Online program? I want to apply for the Fall 2020 semester soon, but I heard it is very hard and less than half the class gets to graduation. Does anyone know where I can find stats on the success rate? I'm trying to compare the online program with the Essex evening/weekend program.
