Hi there! I also graduated in May, passed my boards in July, and am having a hard time find employment...except that I am in Hawaii. Due to my location, there is only one hospital here, and the new graduate program which we were supposed to begin interviewing for during our last semester has been put on hold until further notice due to COVID. While I understand the circumstances, it is hard not to feel defeated as a new grad with limited employment options. I have contacted 3 urgent care centers (not hiring) and was turned down by 3 different positions I applied for (home health, primary care clinic, COVID position assisting with schools) due to lack of expereince. While I don't I have any words of wisdom or advice, I want you to know that you are not alone and that I feel your pain from all the way out here! Let's try and do our best NOT to feel defeated, stay positive, and remember that the nursing profession is not going anywhere...we WILL find that first RN job at some point! Take care~
