  1. I bought the 60 day plan but if i only had about a month to study I would probably purchase the 30 day plan. I don't think the self assessment is necessary, its more like a confidence booster lol. I was doing a 100 questions a day, more or less. Once I went through all the questions I focused on the ones I got wrong. I know a lot of people that used uworld and passed on their first try at 75 questions too.
  2. I took my nclex in march and pretty much only used Uworld to study. Uworld is awesome but pricey, i passed the nclex at 75 question on my first attempt. The assessment test was helpful, it told me that I had a high chance of passing so I guess it was pretty accurate. If your school does kaplan they have a lot of questions with rationales but i found u world to be better. Congrats on graduating and good luck on your nclex.
  3. I interviewed 10 days ago on the 20th. The director said she was going to submit my paperwork to human resources and that I should get a call in about a week. So today I called HR, asking them about the status of my application and if there is anything that I can help them with. They told me that they have some paperwork but it has not received all approval, once everything is approved they will be contacting selected candidates. I'm just wondering what this means? Is this just a generic response that they tell everyone? When she said paperwork I'm not even sure that she meant mine because her response was quick. The director gave me her cell phone number and told me I can text her if I have any questions. Would it be appropriate to ask her about my application? I keep telling myself to be patient but it's hard:unsure: I am a new grad by the way.
  4. As a nursing student I wouldn't worry about patient load. You will start with one patient, throughout the program the most you will get is 2 or 3 depending on the instructor. I know a few techs that went to nursing school and I believe they have an upper hand, especially in first semester. They have a good feel for how the floor works and already know the basics of patient care, charting, etc.
  5. In my text it was little bit more than thank you, I basically said "thank you for your time and consideration. I look forward to becoming a part of the team and contributing to the hospitals goals. If there is anything I can help you with regarding my application process, please let me know." I am worried that it wasn't so professional. But she said to text her because she doesn't check all her emails.
  6. I am a new grad with a RN license and I don't know what is more stressful, studying for the nclex or trying to find a job lol. To keep things short, I went to 2 interviews at different hospitals these past couple of weeks. One was for an ER positions and the other for ICU. Keep in mind that both of these hospitals know that I am new grad before interviewing me. I feel like both interviews went well. At each interview I was asked a clinical question and each time the managers said that I "nailed it" (verbatim). I followed up on my first interview in person and he told me that he needs to talk to his CNO about hiring a new grad. He gave me his cell phone number and told me to text him once a week. On my second interview, when the interview was over, the director said welcome on board (I didn't ask if that meant that I got the position). She gave me her cell phone number and said that she was going to submit my paperwork. I texted her a few days after the interview basically thanking her for her time and consideration. I would like to hear other people's experiences and opinions. Was it okay that I followed up in person after an interview? Is it okay to thank the director with a text message? Does submitting my paperwork mean that I got the job?
