  1. Email Thurs 9/13/2018: As many of you have heard, Virginia College Montgomery is no longer accepting new students into it programs. The campus has a teach out program in place to teach out its current students. We have not met with our Nursing students as our corporate office is working on final details of how this process will work for our Nursing program. Once we have final details, we will reach out to you via email and schedule a time to meet. We hope to have the final details over the next day so that we may schedule a time for you to come in and meet. We realize this is a difficult time for you, but want to ensure we have accurate information to share before we meet. Thank you-- Campus President
  2. here is what i was looking for but I thought of some myself: non verbal cues that you should develop with your pt. please add any that you consider relevant Based on our time today, here are some nonverbal cues I wanted to work on. Just food for thought of how I could help more in the future :) OXYGEN PAIN Call light NOSE needs attention SUCTION COUGH ASSIST DEEP SUCTION URINAL BM ADJUST TRACH DOG or cat needs attention if in the home TV on or off BED ADJUST ROLL me over Stretch FOOD Too cold or too hot Chapstick Intruder Help to the chair or Help to the bed Quiet 911
  3. subject to talk about with pt...how other nurses have approached clients with late stage als...how to deal with family members...end of life care...how others are dealing with end stage ALS pts on hospice...dealing with the talkboxes...dealing with a mind that is whole but completely (or nearly) separated from the body...when do we let them give up...how do we tell the family that they are ready...when do I let go of my personal biased to "fix and heal"...I can go on...
