where to do the prerequisites

Published

hello there!!

I am thinking of doing nursing preferably BSN but doesn't have science background, what are the prerequisites to go for any nursing course, where can I do them, is there anything available online. Any & every information on this would be great.

Thanks.:uhoh3: I am really confused how to go about it.

Alot of schools have a Pre-nursing program since there is a waiting list to get in. Then there are various programs for training most often you must get your LPN first then there is a bridge program or a continuation to get your RN. The RN is usually an AA degree but some schools ofer an accelerated program to get the BSN. You will have to check around where ever you are interested in going. Good luck.

What basic classes have you had?

I should have also mentioned that there are ways to get the pre-reqs done but you should think about whether or not you might be eligible for financial aid because there are ways to get the courses but they can be spendy.

What I would do is research programs in your area that you are interested in applying for, and look at what their admission and prereq requirements are. Most schools require the same courses, but some have oddball requirements. My school requires organic chemistry, while many others I looked at don't. Then start taking the classes EVERYONE requires (A&P, Microbiology, etc.), and you can always take the oddball prereqs closer to application time.
