Prereqs for the bridge

I am an LVN, and I just had my counseling appt. with the community college for the RN bridge program. I am blown away and so frustrated! I have 2.5 years of prerequisites and gen ED classes, that are totally unnecessary, such as film, music, dance, before I can even begin the one-year bridge program. is this NORMAL?! So then in the end, I will have 3 1/2 years of an LVN to RN bridge program. Add my two years (due to Covid) of my LVN program, and my butt is looking at 5 1/2 years of schooling for an ADN. This doesn’t seem right.
