Pre reqs what is needed?

Hi everyone. Just wanted to know what all classes were needed b4 you start your Nursing Concepts at Excelsior? I know A & P, Microbiology, and Psych. But what other ones? A group of nurses where I work are all gonna go through the program together- but no one knows what pre reqs you need. Some of us have college classes, some of us have none so knowing what exactly is needed would be helpful! Thanks :coollook:

These are the pre-reqs that I did for the program...A&P 1&2, microbiology, developmental psycholgy, sociology, English composition, and a computer course are required. You will also need more courses to fulfill credits in the sciences (including social sciences), electives, etc. You can visit www.excelsior.edu to obtain this info via the net or request a catalog. Besides the courses listed above, I took English comp 2, medical ethics and critical thinking, general psych, and mythology. I took all of my generals at a community college and did the nursing exams and clinical with Excelsior. I also did not have to take the computer class as it was not required when I started the program in 2003.

Good Luck!
