Practicing in NYC

Hi, I am a FNP student in my last year of graduate study and will graduate in May 2014. My husband and I are moving to NYC in the next year (not sure if it will be before my last semester or after graduation). I am just wondering if anyone here practices in NYC? I would love any tips on finding jobs and apartments. Also, is it an enjoyable living? I want to work to live not live to work! I know cost of living is high but I'm hoping with a nurse practitioner salary plus my husband's job would get us a decent place and still allow us to enjoy all the perks of living in the city. Thanks!
