PowerPoint Presentations

I'm a kinetic learner (I learn by doing/playing), so...that's my suggestion.

Try going to 'SlideShow' and 'Custom Animation' and play around.

Be sure to check out all of the tabs: 'Order&Timing', 'Effects', 'ChartEffects' and 'MultiMedia Settings'

The "Preview" button will let you see what you've done before saving it.

Also, check out 'SlideShow', "Slide Transition" if you have more than one slide to present.

I could use a little help from knowledgeable educators on jazzing up my ppt presentations a little and I hope you can help me.

I bought a book to assist and it led me through creating the entire ppt presentation. However, I've seen presentations that have text fading in, text that moves around, etc. (The book says nothing about this and neither do the other books I looked at in the library) Can anyone offer any suggestions/tips on how to do this to improve my graduate-level presentation to be more aesthetic. Thanks in advance for your help!

When you open PP, click on "view" and make sure "task pane" is checked.

The task pane will be to the right of your slide box. Click on the dropdown that says "getting started" at the top, then click "slide design" and "animation schemes". Play around with that for awhile then try a couple of the other features. There's more, but that should keep you happy for awhile!!

In PP 2000, there is a split screen that you can click and drag to the left margin if you don't want to see it....

Yikes! I have 2003... I thought that was about the same as 2000.

Nope, no 'slide design'.

The closest I have is the vertical margin (that I can collapse into the left side) and the 'Slide Show' button on the toolbar (this is where I do all the 'cool' stuff)

When you hit "slideshow" do you get choices like "animation scheme" "custom animation" and "slide transition"?

Yup, mostly.

I get 'Action Buttons', 'Preset Animation' and 'Custom Animation' and 'Slide Transition'

So, Original Poster.......what version are you using???

Is there a way to convert a Powerpoint slideshow that has been converted to a pdf. file BACK to a Powerpoint slideshow?

In other words, the slideshow has been copied as a pdf. file to be used as a handout. The pdf. file of the slideshow--NOT the actual slideshow--has been published to the web. It's not copyright protected or anything; it's for general education. Funny they didn't publish the original Powepoint slideshow along with the pdf. file.

Thanks everyone for your help! I found the slide transitions and have been playing around with my presentation. I have really improved it with the features mentioned!

The only way to convert a pdf. file to a powerpoint slideshow is to manually copy the information. PDF is designed to be uneditable/imported into other programs.
