Who's school admits by the point system? How does it work at your school?

My school admits by the point system. I have added by points and I have 50-55 points out of a possible 90. They said in the nursing conference that the average is for admit is usually 47 but last year the admits started at 51. I am hoping to get admitted into the program. What do you all think?

Mine uses the point system also. For LPN you can get a possible 170 points and I believe its 200 points for the RN. They take your score from the COMPASS reading portion and apply that, you also get certain amount of points based on GPA, completed prereq's, and points for grades in the prereq's (an A gets more points than a B), points are given for having completed a CNA or EMT course or working/volunteering in a medical facility for 6 months or more. So far I have 95 from my reading test and am hoping to pull A's in the 2 prereqs Im doing now, I also am a certified CNA. Im not sure exactly how many points I have but I plan to apply for the Fall 08 semester.

I think it will just depend on how many people apply and how many points most people are averaging but if it started with 51 last yr and you have 50-55 then I think you have a good chance. Good Luck!
