Just recently passed NCLEX and sad to say, can't find a job due to my lack of experience as a RN here in the US. Although I do have an experience from other country, still they don't consider it. I don't know where to find a facility hiring new grad. Anybody out there who can suggest one.. I'm really desperate to go to work. thanks..

try sunrise. i am a new-grad as of may this year and got hired there in august.
bellymarie: thanks for the reply. just want to ask if how did you applied there, is it through their web site or you went to the hospital to fill out an application? coz I've been trying to look at their career page but I can't see some new grad openings. thank you so much.
always always always go in. apply online first to the positions you really want, then go in and talk with them. have a paper resume and cover letter ready, and dress professional. be assertive, but not desperate. theyll tell you that they dont want new grads, so come up with something unique and push them to show you really want it. dont just walk out, because they will hire new grads. this goes for any facility you apply to, not just sunrise. good luck.
Okay, I'll do it. Thank you, thank you..... Actually they are considering me as a new grad coz I do not have experience here in the US and just recently passed NCLEX although I've been a nurse from a foreign country for more than 2 years. Hope to be able to get a job soon coz I'm really in need of it.. :)

If you can't get a job in an acute facility, have you tried a SNF or LTAC? Often they are in need and you can get some great experience under your belt. You can also make a difference. The care isn't always stellar, as a new grad, you would go in with the attitude of someone who wants to change things! Try Life Care on Harmon (sub-acute), Horizon LTAC, Progressive LTAC, or even a rehab like Health South - at times they will train. Rehab is great experience too. Good luck. Be persistant. And yes, GO TO THE FACILITIES. At times they will let you talk to a nurse recruiter right away. Other possibilities - psych nursing which has a huge population in Vegas. North Vista gero-psych is alway looking for nurses. Spring Valley Treatment Center on Rainbow may need help......Let us know how you are doing!
