Please Help Me!

Hey guys, I currently live in TX and have been an RN for a little over two years. I am currently in FNP school but really want to start pursuing the aesthetics side of nursing. I really could use some input on how to get started. What Botox/filler training courses do y'all recommend? I really have no clue but would love to hear some advice!

Hi! From what I've gathered from other aesthetic nurses, the best way to start is by networking. So if you currently get aesthetic work done on yourself maybe ask your nurse if she knows anyone or if she herself would be willing to mentor you. Just something to get your foot in the door. I bought some textbooks off of amazon so that I can get a good base knowledge and I'm currently looking for a good journal to subscribe to. The classes and trainings that you mentioned are usually only 1 day courses so I think you'd be better off shadowing someone and being mentored by that person!

Thank you!

Hi! I just graduated with my FNP and will start a position in Dermatology next month. It's hard to get into the field (aesthetics or derm) without experience so push hard to get a derm clinical rotation during school so you can get some experience or shadow in a medical spa. You could do an aesthetics course, but they are expensive and probably aren't necessary if you get a rotation. Good luck!
