LPN in Pediatrics

Hi Everyone:) I'm currently an LPN student and just wanted to know if there are any LPN's here that work in Pediatrics in a hospital and if so, what are your day to day duties? what do you like/dislike? where are you from? and what was your starting salary when you graduated? thank you so much for your help:)

thank you so much.

Hi,

I used to work Pediatric ER (level 1 trauma center) and I did IV's, cath urines, triage pts, and vital signs. I also assisted with traumas, LP's, and any other procedure that required assistance. Starting salaries can vary from hospital to hospital. I believe at my hospital they start new grads at ~$14 per hour with full benefits. I loved every minute of it! I recently transfered to the surgical prep unit in the same hospital (no holidays & no weekends) but I still work prn in the ER.

Where did you go to school Darlene K?
