Please do yourself a HUGE favor and stay away from Concorde!!! :)

Concorde's PCA program is basically a 9-month, $10,000 CNA program. Sure, you may learn more in 9 months than you would in the state-required 5-week CNA program (I would hope so), but your credentials in the end will be the same. PCA is not a licensed/certified title in Tennessee, which is why you are only able to sit for the Tennessee CNA exam when you complete the program.

There are a couple of inexpensive CNA programs in Memphis. Check with Tennessee Technology Center. I believe they have a 5-week CNA program and the tuition is around $550. Also, I believe Court Manor nursing home has a free training program if you agree to work for them for a certain period of time.

Check this site at the TN Dept of Health for more CNA schools: http://health.state.tn.us/HCF/NurseAide/findfacility.asp?CountyCode=79
