Part Time?

I was just curious to know if anyone is a part time traveler? I don't know if any of the travel companies hire for part time positions, but I was interested to find out. If so, what company do you go with? Do you like them? Thanks for the info!

Hey!

My coworker is a PT contracted 'traveler'. Actually, more like a contracted agency nurse. She is with MSN, makes her own schedule, givers the hospital her availability etc. and the way it works is kinda like per diem, but she has a fixed amount of hours that they have to give her per week---so she can't get cancelled! She doesn't get the housing stipend or anything like that, cos she local, but she makes $40/hr in the ICU.

The hospital we are at is a small hospital, with so many needs and short staffing. So they guaranee her 24hrs a week, and she gets to work those hours.

At my last gig, I had done 26 weeks, and asked to go PT for 60 days to just 24 hours. They agreed, but after that I had to either re-up, increase my contract or leave. If you have a good relationship where you are working, they are usually flexible, since you already know the unit and they won't have to retrain someone else.

It can't help to ask! Good luck!
