what is a parent-child CNS?

Hi all, I'm wondering if any of you have any information/experience with the parent-child CNS certification. I have looked on this site for information and I found one previous thread, but unfortunately it didn't really explain much about the certification, so I thought I'd ask again. I currently work as a Family Psych NP, but because of the nature of the population I work with, I do a lot of family planning education, as well as early childhood attachment and development work with parents and I'd really like to get some more education in those fields, so I started looking at parent-child CNS and perinatal CNS programs, thinking they might be my best bets. Unfortunately the only perinatal program I could find on the west coast is in Seattle, a bit too far away for me. However, I live in southern California and there happen to be two parent-child CNS post-masters programs in the area, one at Cal State DH and one at Azusa Pacific, but even the university websites are surprisingly vague in terms of discussing the real meat of their parent-child programs! So I'm really working on very little information here...

Is anyone out there a parent-child CNS, or have you heard of one in your places of work or are you looking to become one yourself? Any information anyone has would be really appreciated. Thanks!
