paramedic seeking a switch

I am currently a paramedic in LPN school and I was considering the dialysis route when school is out. I am in the southwest ohio area and was trying to get an idea of starting pay for places such as davita, fmc etc.. Although, my knees are shaking after reading some of the many horror stories about dialysis. Does one company pay more than the other? Does one have better benefits? Should I stick to getting a job at one of the many disgusting nursing homes in my area? Any info will help. Thanks in advance.

Try to go with Davita first before FMC. I believe Davita is more patient-oriented than FMC, but it depends on the staff at the individual clinics as to how good or bad it is to work for them. If you can't find a position with either one of them, try hospital nursing. The experience there will help you get a good nursing foundation while you are looking for something else. The nursing home would be my absolute last resort.
