Orientation pay?

Hi! I just got hired as a per diem LNA at St. Ann's in Dover.

I have a couple questions-

Does anyone know if facilities in NH pay for orientation?

*silly question* What do I wear? Scrubs or professional attire?

***Also, if anyone knows anything about St. Anns- how is per diem there? Will I get enough hours or is it difficult to pick up shifts?

Or, if you don't know anything about St. Anns but have a clue about per diem LNA's in general- could you tell me anything about the hours and shift availability?

Thanks so much!!!

Emma

Per diem can be really touchy so far as hours go. Around holidays, you tend to lose hours, because everyone wants the extra pay, but afterwards, they pick back up again. You shouldnt have too much of a problem getting hours through there though, because they use a lot of staffing agencies(including the one I work for), and they would always rather pay their own per diem staff, than to pay for an agency. You should get paid for orientation, every place I have ever worked for, you get paid for that. If it is going to only be a couple of videos or something that you are going to be watching, you dont need to wear scrubs, but due to the fact that you will probably tour the facility, meet some of the nurses, and the residents, I would recommend you dress nicely. Its not a bad place to work, I worked there on Christmas eve, and it wasnt too overly intense. Good luck!
