OR nursing in Chicago

I'm moving to Chicago this summer and was wondering what the base pay for an OR nurse with six years of experience would be.

There seems to be a lot of choices of hospitals in Chicago, not sure which ones to apply to and which ones to stay away from. Would love to chat with anyone with OR experience in Chicago!

I am currently an OR nurse at St. Joseph Hospital in chicago. I transitioned from an OR tech to Nurse last year and they gave me 1 year nursing experience for every two I had as a tech which came out to seven years, so my starting pay was at 29.46 an hour. They have done a reevalution of pay scales right after that and I am now at 31.06. So you can negiotate and get a pretty good salary.

thanks for your response. i was thinking about applying there for a job but thought rush or uic might be better since i live down in this area. after reading your response, i do want to reconsider. sounds like they've been pretty genereous with the pay.

Don't know if you're still looking... don't go to St. James in Olympia Fields if you're looking for trauma. They de-designated & are no longer a trauma center. Plus, staffing is an issue. Hours are being cut, big time!!!!
