Online RN-BSN Nursing Programs

I was wondering... If you teach in a totally online RN-BSN program, does your curriculum require clinical hours, or Capstone projects.

Also, do you have much competition for students from other nearby RN completion nursing programs. If so, what do you do to recruit.

    Our RN-BSN program does require clinical (field experience) hours for two courses. And yes, competition is tough. I have experienced many nurses are looking for the cheapest and fastest completion tracks, and not always considering the quality of education and academic support.

    Thanks for your response, profp. It seems that a majority of RN-BSN students want programs without clinicals and we compete with a program just across town that basically offers that option. We are not totally comfortable with having no field experiences so our Capstone courses require some interaction with healthcare organizations and interprofessional healthcare staff during the students' rotation through each Capstone. Even with this type of program, competition is still pretty stiff and we find that without an experienced and energetic program recruiter its almost impossible to attract students, even though our program is CCNE accredited.
