NZ

I have been attending numerous seminars regarding NZCAP and study-work-live pathway for nurses. There is this one school named Kauri Academy based in Auckland NZ who is offering courses for Diversional Therapist and other NZ schools are also offering Healthcare Management courses. They have also said that it can be a pathway to residency. However, one of my colleagues who is already in NZ told me that it is preferable to just take the NZCAP route if one wants to become a NZ resident.

Has anybody tried the school-work-live pathway?

By the way, I am registered nurse with almost 4 years of ICU experience.

    It's been a while since you posted and I'm wondering what path you took. Here's my two cents in case someone reads this and may be in the same predicament you are. If you have enough work experience as a nurse, better study cap straight away rather than coming to nz with a student visa. Having a student visa is the longer route because you'll still end up doing cap anyway after your course because you need to register with the NZ Nursing Council in order to work as a NZRN. Focus on your IELTS then apply for CAP. After CAP, try to look for work as a nurse and apply your residency. Registered Nurses belong to the Long Term Shortage Skills List and are given priority by immigration. I got my residency after 5weeks just because nurses are still in the shortage skills list
