NYC NICU's

Published

hello everyone!

just looking to get some tips and advice re. nicu's in the new york city and staten island area... i'm looking at doing some travel nursing in the area and would appreciate any info... thanks...

Hi Baby_rn,

Well, I can't tell you too much, as I am a new grad and only really saw one NICU during my rotations. The Morgan Stanley Children's Hospital of New York-Presbyterian (W. 165th and Broadway) has a brand new facility and a BEAUTIFUL NICU. I was only really up there one day, so I can't really speak to things like staff dynamics, all I can say is that their NICU is really nice.

A friend of mine did her preceptorship at New York Weill Cornell Children's Hospital (at E. 68th and York, also a part of the New York-Presbyterian Hospital system) and she said that it was a really great experience for her and that they also have top notch facilities.

That's all I know, maybe you should try posting in the New York nurses thread?

HI guys... I have an interview tomorrow 10 /27 at ny Presbyterian... nicu... the morgan stanley unit... i am soo nervous... any tips?

Let me try that again..... I am new to this, and I would like to introduce myself...This board is so nice to read, it is so refreshing to actually have other nicu nurses to talk with and discuss things with. thanks...

The NICU at Morgan Stanley Childrens Hospital is a beautiful NICU (I work there) but they don't use travelers. Only a few hospitals in Manahttan do. Lenox Hill, Mt Sinai, and St Vincent's I think do.
