In our local Children's ER. I'm very excited about this - it's almost perfect for me, as it is a fast-paced, high acuity environment. I'm going to be an NNP by the time I get done with everything, but couldn't get into the NICU yet as a unit coord.
I shadowed last night and it was incredibly fun and there seems to be a great vibe going on among the evening/night staff (when I'll be working mostly) I'm excited because not only will I get to start meeting people in the hospital I want to work at in the NICU, but I'll also just get to observe a lot of cool stuff. It's a level I trauma ER and we go right in the room when traumas come in.
Monday I go in for my drug test, fingerprinting and photo!! :)

Hey congrats!
Sounds like a great job. I am really hoping to get into a job like this when I am done with this semester ( the last of my pre-reqs). The nursing programs in my area are impacted and are lottery, so I want to work in an ER setting as soon as I can too.
Please post how it's going, what you do, etc. I'd love to hear all about it!
Good luck!
