Nursing Programs Prequisites (Canada)

Good afternoon Everyone,

Here is my dilemma:

  • I am a university graduate whose cgpa was not the greatest (2.92 cgpa)
  • I attempted to complete the Pre-Health science program, but, dropped out of the program in second semester due to work obligations. Due to the time in which I ended the program, my gpa for the second semester has been negatively impacted. (I had a 4.0 in first semester and "DNC" or F for my second semester courses because I dropped out of the program late)
  • I am now enrolled in ILC 4U math and science courses (Biology, Chemistry and Math) as they are online and can be complete at my own pace

I absolutely enjoyed my first semester of the PHS program and from that point made up my mind that nursing is the right career for me.

If I do well in my ILC courses, will the fact that I did not complete the PHS program hinder my chances of gaining acceptance?I have my heart set on applying for George Brown/Centennial/Ryerson University, Fleming/Trent University and Confederation/Lakehead University collaborative programs.

I am feeling a bit discouraged as most of their admission requirements state, "no failures in prerequisite/core classes." I am in desperate need of some advice.

Thank you in advance,

AliciaJ
